Dimapur, December 20 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on Tuesday stated that there has been injustice and inequality in development despite the Government of the day’s talks about backward area development.
“Many projects are unverifiable according to CAG Report. Unverifiable means there is nothing on the ground. We have no roads but we have many work orders,” it stated in a press release issued through its Communications Department. NITI Aayog has classified Nagaland as the worst-performing state, it further added.
Citing fund distribution for road construction during 2018 to 2022 as an example, the NPCC pointed out at a total of Rs 5,241.80 crore was allocated for the districts of Kohima, Dimapur, Phek, Mon, Wokha and Zunheboto during the period, under ‘interstate and economic importance and central and infrastructure.’ Mokokchung, Tuensang, Longleng, Kiphire, Peren, Noklak districts reportedly did not receive any funds in the category during the period.
Similarly, under Bharatmala Pariyojana, Road Scheme Rs 4895.49 crore was allocated to Kohima, Dimapur and Phek districts, while funds for the remaining districts were marked ‘nil,’ it added.
This distribution of Rs 10, 137.29, “what Congress calls injustice and inequality. This is what we call corruption,” the release went on to state, while adding that “There are no roads excepting National High Way activities.”
If anybody wants details, we have documents available in the NPCC office, it maintained.
