KOHIMA, OCTOBER 4 (MExN): Government High School (GHS), PWD, Kohima, hosted its inaugural Innovative Skill Development Day on October 3, centered around the theme “Moulding Young Minds towards Innovative Skill Development.”
A DIPR report stated that the event aimed to enhance problem-solving skills among students and promote concepts of productivity, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Assistant Headmistress Neizokhoü Vizo delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the school's commitment to fostering these essential skills.
As a special guest, Kohima Municipal Council Councillor, Neibodzeiie Solo encouraged students to reflect on the valuable skills of their ancestors. He urged them to embrace their inherent talents and exhibit their skills fully. Solo highlighted the importance of blending traditional and modern technologies, advocating for self-confidence and continuous skill development to thrive in today's competitive job market.
The day-long program involved students from Classes A-10, alongside dedicated teachers, engaging in a variety of skill development activities, including basket making, pickle making, organic fruit juice preparation, bamboo crafts, knitting, baking, LED bulb creation, and more.
The event drew participation from members of the School Development and Management Committee (SDMC), Upper PWD Panchayat, local women’s and youth organizations, as well as parents. This initiative marks a significant step in promoting practical skills and innovation within the student community, preparing them for future challenges, the DIRP report stated.
