
Dimapur: Indian National Trust for Art and Natural Cultural Heritage (INTACH) is organizing an all India competition ‘My Living Icon’ for school students of classes 6-9 only, aimed at promoting the spirit of appreciation, exploration and cultural education.
A contestant may write an essay on his/her icon or person in 750 words on A4 size paper or make a painting or poster showing the contribution of the person and their portrait on A3 size paper. The icon or person should be living. The person may be from the field of crafts, literature performing arts, or a person who has contributed to the history of their city, its natural environment or monument preservation. The person should belong to the student’s city, town or region and be known locally. Each student should either paint or write. All participating students get certificates. Regional winners are awarded and the 10 national winners get to visit a city rich in its living heritage.

Nagaland Chapter informed that further to the details given earlier, this is to remind all respective School authorities for information of their students that INTACH Nagaland Chapter in collaboration with NEZCC will be conducting the programme on February 13, 2014 at 10:00 am at the NEZCC, Dimapur. Registration starts from 9:30 am sharp. Presided over by the Convener, INTACH Nagaland Chapter, Padmashree Sentila T. Yanger, the programme will be graced by Talinokcha, Addl. Director, NEZCC.
