Kohima, May 15 (MExN): ATMA Kohima block launched an integrated farm school at Chedemabawe on May 15 with Kezhatuonuo Chakrunuo who has been involved in dairy cattle rearing and vegetable and paddy cultivation in her field for many years as the farm school teacher.
The purpose for the farm school is to meet the needs of the farmers and the women farmers’ groups in terms of best management and cultivation practices in agriculture and allied sectors namely vegetable cultivation and dairy cattle rearing.
BTM, ATMA Kohima Block, Dr Khriengunuo briefed the farmers on the role and functions of the farm school. Demonstrations on maize cultivation, mixed cropping and French beans cultivation was conducted by the ATM, ATMA Kohima Block,Thejavinuo Mepfhuo, for the benefit of the farmers. Seeds were also distributed so that the farmers can try out the same techniques for practical purposes in their fields.
The programme was attended by members of Siedze FSG (Food Security Group), the farmers’ friend of Chedema Bawe, the newly appointed farm school teacher and ATMA functionaries.
