DIMAPUR, AUGUST 25 (MExN): The Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), in collaboration with the National Health Mission (NHM) Nagaland and the USAID-PRERANA project, conducted an integrated training session for NSACS staff on August 21 and 22.
The training focused on enhancing knowledge and skills related to Family Planning and Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services.
The session, aimed at staff from the “CTY BARN” and “Health on Bike” initiatives, is part of a broader effort to improve access to SRH services across the state. These initiatives, operating in 12 districts, are designed to extend the reach of SRH services, with “CTY BARN” recently launched in four districts and “Health on Bike” running in eight districts.
Dr. Akuo Sorhie, Mission Director of NHM, and Dr. Ahu Sekhose, Project Director of NSACS, inaugurated the training, emphasizing the importance of integrating family planning and SRH services into primary health care. Representatives from USAID India and the PRERANA project, along with other government officials, were also present.
PRERANA, a five-year USAID-funded initiative, aims to strengthen SRH services across the northeastern states of India, with a particular focus on marginalized populations, including those living with HIV/AIDS. The project seeks to develop innovative, locally relevant strategies that integrate health services with broader social issues such as mental health and gender-based violence.
