Inter district science seminar for govt schools in Nagaland

Nagaland School Education Director Razouseyi Vese today maintained that with the advancement of technology, people are now very ease in their dealings in many ways.

“We are saving time to a great extent. We are saving our economy, our money to a great extent,” Vese said while addressing Inter District Science Seminar on “Cyber security in the digital era: Saving our digital assets” at Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima.

Technology offers a lot of merit “but in everything, there is merit and demerit, the director said and called for judicious use of gadgets and technology. Those who misuse the same will land into trouble, he warned. “We need to protect ourselves.” he said and stressed on the need to avoid unauthorized persons to access one’s data or personal security.

“Our lives are increasingly online. People use online for their wants and needs in various ways, as shopping, banking etc. These day’s people are more advance but it has caused digital threats numerous ways. People should know the advantage and disadvantage about internet, if not, everyone will be at risk,” said Ayu Chailing, a participant representing Rüzhükhrie GHSS Kohima

Chailing opined “We should teach each other how to indentify threats phishing and also check our digital devises to detect suspicious activity early.

In the digital era, cyber security is essential for safeguarding our personal, corporate and national digital assets, she said adding that “As cyber threats grow more sophisticated, proactive measures, continuous education and robust security frameworks are vital to protect sensitive information and ensure a secure digital future,” Chailing added.

This seminar, organised by Directorate of School Education, Nagaland for Government schools, witnessed 19 participants from GHS Tseminyu New Town, GHS PWD Kohima, PM Shri GHS Nahalbari, GHSSS Chukitong, GHSS Wokha Town, PM Shri GHS Wokha village, GHSS Sungro, GHSS Diphupar A, GHSS Jotsoma, Rüzhükhrie GHSS Kohima, GHSS Lengrijan, GHSS Purana Bazar, GHSS Tseminyu, GHS Chandmari, GHS Kandinu, PM Shri GHSS Chümoukedima and GHSS Sinrijan.

Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Chandra Kant Bharti, Principal, Rüzhükhrie GHSS Kohima.

The programme was chaired by Kekhrieneino C Senotsu, PGT, RGHSS Kohima while vote of thanks was proposed by Gloria Ezung, Assistant Director, Directorate of School Education.

Panel of judges for the event included Daniel Thong, Vice Principal & Head IE & ICT SCERT, Nagaland; Vilakhole Naki, Research Associate, SCERT Nagaland; and Temsukaba Longkumer, Training cum Research Assistant, SCERT Nagaland.

The winners were - 1st Vinoho Phiyie: PM Shri GHSS Chümoukedima; 2nd: Asha Rai, GHSS Singrijan; 3rd: Noor Hussain, GHS Sarbura; Consolation: Partha Jyoti Das, GHS Chandmari, Kohima and Ayu Chailing, Rüzhükhrie GHSS Kohima.
