Mokokchung, August 11 (MExN): The first Inter-Ward Volleyball Tournament organized by Kumlong Sporting Association (KSA) under the aegis of Mokokchung District Volleyball Association (MDVA) began at the Multi-sports Complex, Mokokchung on August 11.
The tourney was officially kicked off by Chumlamo Humtsoe ADC & Administrator MMC, Mokokchung as the guest of honour. The opening match saw Artang defeating Dilong 25-11; 25-15.
Allen Imchen, Vice president MDVA meanwhile said that the KSA and MDVA have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, and that the champions will be granted free entry in the Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy.
Altogether nine teams are participating in the event. They are Dilong, Artang, Alongmen, Sungkomen, Mongsenbai, Marepkong, Penli, Yimyu and Kumlong.
