DIMAPUR, JULY 19 (MExN): Interfaith Forum for Peace and Harmony, Manipur will hold an interfaith mass prayer program followed by a candle light vigil on July 20 at the ISKCON Temple complex, Sangaiprou, Imphal West.
Leaders of different faith and communities will take turns to pray for ending the ongoing violence, for the souls of those who sacrificed their lives, healing of those who lost their near and dear ones, recovery of those who are injured, safety, security and wellbeing those who are displaced and living in relief camps across the hills and valley among others, a press release issued by convenor Deben Bachaspatimayum informed.
The prayers will begin at 3:30 pm at ISKCON Temple in presence of at least 200 persons representing all religious and faith communities in Manipur including Hindu Gaudiya Vishnavas, Sanamahi, Christian, Islam, Tingkao Ragwang, Jains, Buddhist, Divine Life Society, Brahmakumaris, Art of Living, etc.
After this, the candle light vigil will begin at 5:30 PM in the campus of ISKCON. In this connection, the forum has appealed all concerned citizens of Manipur and rest of India to kindly join in the mass prayer and candle light from their own locations as individuals, groups and community in expression of human solidarity across divides and for ending violence in the state to create space for healing and reconciliation through dialogue processes among the affected communities.
