Intermittent power shutdown across State from October 24

Kohima, October 20 (MExN): The Department of Power has informed that there will be intermittent disruption of power supply from October 24 to November 26 in various parts of the state.

According to a press release from the Executive Engineer, Transmission Division, Kohima on Thursday, power supply in parts of Kohima district and Phek district would be disrupted from October 24 to November 5. The disruption is necessitated in order to conduct jungle clearance and maintenance along 33kV lines in an effort to avoid disruption and facilitate stable power supply.

The Department shall try to minimize the total shutdown, however, there will be intermittent disruption of power supply in some pockets during the activity which is unavoidable, the EE stated while adding that the shutdowns would be scheduled for 8:00 am to 3:00 pm during the period.

Mokokchung Transmission Division
Similarly, the EE, Transmission Division, Mokokchung informed that there will be total shutdown of power from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm from October 24 to November 26, which will affect parts of Zunheboto, Tuensang, Longleng, and Mon districts along with Tuli Sub-Division. (See Table)

During this period, the EE stated that vegetation clearance exercise would be conducted along the 132kV and 66kV transmission lines under the Mokokchung division with the aim to provide stability and avoid unwarranted disruption of power supply.

The EE of both Kohima and Mokokchung divisions further requested all consumers and public to extend cooperation and bear the inconvenience during the shutdown period.
