Kohima, August 8 (MExN): Bringing a huge smile to the State, a Naga lady, Lahienuo Metsieo, has been recognized by international organizations by conferring with an award for innovative farmer 2006 under the aegis of Vardan, India IFPRI Washington DC USA and ISEE India.
This award has been conferred at the international conference on social science perspectives in Agricultural Research and Development held recently at IARI, Pusa, New Delhi.
“We feel proud of your wonderful performance which has been acknowledged and recommended by the Directorate of Agriculture,” said the Farmers Association Chiechama while extending congratulation to Metsieo, further thanked Rongsenla, Deputy Director and their colleagues, that looks after women in Agriculture.
Meanwhile, Metsieo, a leader of Sede Self Help Group (SHG) of Chiechama village under Kohima district said that the award given to her with the title “Award for Innovative Farmer 2006” organized by Vardan India and IFPRI Washington and ISSEE India has been chanelized and highly recommended by Director of Agriculture.
“Because of their efforts I could be recognized by International organizations,” she said and thanked all persons particularly Ronseninla, Keveyieu and Akuno who had done paper works in the office.
“I am so proud to own this award on behalf of Director of Agriculture, officers and staff,” she added.
