
Dimapur, Jan 16 (DIPR): The Local Commission for the purpose of identifying boundaries between the states of Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh has invited objections and/or views of the general public and in case they seek to be heard by the commission, the concerned persons with opinions should send their representations, setting out their contentions on the boundary between the States of Nagaland and Assam to the office of the commission at the addresses given below within a period of six weeks from the date of publication of the Notice. Additional Chief Secretary (Border) & Commissioner, TN Mannen stated this in a public notice while informing that the Supreme Court has constituted a Local Commission under the Chairmanship of Justice SN Variava, (Retd) Judge of the Supreme Court, for the purpose of identifying the boundaries between the mentioned states.
The commission shall call upon the persons to participate in proceedings after examining the representations on a date and time to be fixed by it. Henceforth, all correspondence to the Local Commission, in respect to representation from the State of Nagaland should be addressed to Justice S.N. Variava, Chairperson Local Commission, c/o Additional Chief Secretary, Border Affairs & Commissioner, Nagaland, Kohima Old Secretariat Complex.
