Dimapur, March 12 (MExN): The 2nd round of Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) drive for 2013 was carried out on March 11 and 12 for Chare block under Primary Health Centre, Chare.
More than 800 children were administered polio drops in the villages of Chungliyimti B, Alisopur, Trongar, Tonglongsor, Longkhitpeh, Chare Village, Chare old, and Chare new. Administration of pulse polio started at 7:00 am and continued till 2:00 pm through polio booths on the first day. Polio booths were set up at every village to provide the immunisation services to respective villages. Household visits were carried out on the second day to ensure every eligible child receive the polio drops.
35 health workers divided into 8 teams consisting of medical officers Dr. P. Imti Kichu and Dr. Imkongchiba of Primary Health Centre Chare, pharmacists, nurses, ASHAs, technicians, etc., conducted the 2nd round IPPI drive in Chare block.
