IRC conducts exploratory meeting about disabilities

Kohima, May 6 (MExN):  The Indian Red Cross team headed by Chaude Tardif, Head of Physical Rehabilitation Program, ICRC Geneva  visited Kohima along with his colleague Achille Otuo Essono, Physical Rehabilitation Project Manager, ICRC, New Delhi  and had an exploratory meeting about disabilities with the Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland Kohima and District Welfare Officer,  Kohima. The visiting team was accompanied by Zakie Kire, General Secretary, IRCSN, Kholie Dolf, M.C Member, IRCSN and officials from IRCS, Dimapur District Branch- Vikuto Robin and Vichutuolie Angami
Later in the evening, wheelchairs were distributed to 5 (five) beneficiaries of Cherry Blossom School, Kohima in a simple function at the Red Cross Office, Kohima. The function was chaired by Abeni TCK, Vice-Chairman, IRCSN while Zakie Kire, General Secretary, IRCSN introduced the guests. Claude Tardif before distributing the wheelchairs said that the wheelchairs are provided so that they can be more independent and it will act as a source of help not only for the children but the parents as well.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Kholie Dolf, M.C Member, IRCSN. The function was attended by M.C Members IRCSN, officials of IRCS, Dimapur District Branch, members from NAPAD, Headmistress Cherry Blossom School along with students and teachers.
