Dimapur, January 9 (MExN): In a compassionate response to recent fire incidents in Dimapur, the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Nagaland State Branch, under the leadership of General Secretary Akhale V Khamo, conducted a relief operation to support affected families. 

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the IRCS Dimapur District Branch, providing critical relief materials to families who lost their homes and belongings.

The relief team visited three fire-affected camps, delivering essential items such as blankets, hygiene kits, kitchen sets, and tarpaulins, stated a press release received here. 

In Kuda Village, the fire incident affected four families. The most severely affected area was Naharbari Colony, where over 250 families were rendered homeless due to a devastating fire. In Lhomithi Colony , few families were impacted by another fire incident. 

Speaking about the initiative, Akhale V Khamo emphasised the importance of organized responses in times of disaster, stating, “The Indian Red Cross Society stands by those in need, ensuring that no family faces tragedy alone. We remain dedicated to alleviating suffering and restoring hope.”
