Dimapur, December 5 (MExN): Demanding the Department of Industries and Commerce to come clean on its stand on implementation of the ‘Year of the Entrepreneur’ (YOE), the All Nagaland Selected Entrepreneurs Association (ANSEA) has said that the Department has failed in its commitment to help the youth. ANSEA has deferred its indefinite agitation regarding this to December 12 owing to the ongoing festival. This was informed today in a press note from ANSEA President Kekhriesetuo Michael.
As per a cabinet decision taken on April 24, says the press note, and the following meeting held on May 3, under the Chairmanship of Alemtemshi Jamir, Addl. Chief Secy. & Dev. Commissioner, project proposals of the entrepreneurs were forwarded to the concerned agencies for financing. The ANSEA wonder what steps the Department of Industries and Commerce has taken wherein “it could finance only 11 projects in the last seven months, which is just 1% of the selected candidates”.
ANSEA has also reminded the Department that its members have been approaching the concern Departments, Banks and other financial institutions and have even submitted the required DPRs and other necessary documents.
“When project proposals have been accepted and necessary formalities completed by the concern department, why is the department insisting that ‘many entrepreneurs have not completed the requisite formalities in the banks’. How can the departments send proposal to the government if requisite formalities have not been completed?”
Further, the Association has reminded that for the last seven months, the selected entrepreneurs have been pursuing the case with the concerned departments, banks and other financial institutions for financing the projects.
ANSEA has asked all ‘selected entrepreneurs’ to reach the Directorate of Industries and Commerce at 8 am on December 12 for the indefinite agitation.
