Israel G Xuivi to be inducted into the International Taekwon-do Hall of Fame

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 12 (MExN): Israel G Xuivi, a renowned international Taekwon-do instructor and a player from Nagaland, has been invited to Jersey City, USA for the official induction ceremony into International Taekwondo Hall of Fame on August 19.

A press release from the Nagaland Taekwondo Federation informed that the Hall of Fame is the highest honour one can achieve in the Martial Art Olympic sport of Taekwon-do. It has inducted many renowned personalities of World Masters from the various international taekwondo organisations i.e successful champions, referees, umpires, coaches, administrators including Olympians. 

Persons previously honoured include ITF President, Prof Chang Ung and WTF President, Dr Un Yong Kim. In India, Xuivi is the second person to be invited for induction into the Hall of Fame after Grand Master Puran Andrew Gurung, the founder of taekwondo in India and Nepal.

Israel and his wife Nikatoli will leave for the United States on August 17 and will attend the function on August 19 at the luxurious Hyatt Regency at 2 Exchange Palace, Jersey City, New Jersey, USA. 

The Nagaland Taekwon-do federation (NTF) congratulated Master Israel G Xuivi and expressed its best wishes for the historic ceremony.

Xuivi is a Limca book of record holder in kicking. Recently he was featured in the official website of International Taekwondo Hall of Fame USA for his outstanding performance and achievements in Taekwon-do tagging him as 'Outstanding ITF taekwondo champion' and also recognising his contribution to the martial arts fraternity, especially as the founder of  Naga Kiti-Do, the Naga indigenous martial arts.
