Under the initiative of Nagaland Education Mission Society, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, Cultural & Traditional Day was successfully observed today in all Government Schools having elementary sections throughout Nagaland.
During the programme, various activities such as cultural dance, folk songs, handicraft, weaving, storytelling by elderly people etc were conducted. Students were mandatory to wear traditional dress to school which received good response from all over Nagaland.
The aims and objectives of the cultural and traditional day is to enable children to know and learn about our traditions and culture, to create a sense of pride and honor, to conduct competition among the students through folk song and folk dance, to encourage inquisitiveness by introducing Quiz competition on history, culture and traditions, to instill in the minds of students the importance of cultural diversity and to let the students learn the traditional folklore, folk songs and dances.
Meanwhile, State Mission Authority expressed gratitude to all staff of DMA, EBRC and teachers for success of the programme.
