'I’ve got talent': UBCA-NEI Sunday School talent contest

Balijan, July 18 (MExN): The Christian Education Department of United Baptist Churches Association North East India (UBCA-NEI) conducted a talent competition for Sunday School children of churches under the association on July 16 at United Baptist Church, Balijan, Karbi Anglong. The event organized in aid of Sunday School books was held under the theme “I’ve got talent”.   Hundreds of Sunday School children took part in the competition graced by L. Khukiye Sema, Deputy Mission Director, SSA Nagaland as chief guest. Khukiye pointed out that the Sunday School teachers shoulder a huge responsibility to mould the children in the path of righteousness. He maintained that to become and dynamic and successful leader, one has to have the qualities of love, patience and smile.   He also challenged the children to make good use of their talent and live a purposeful live according to the will of God. He encouraged them to be obedient and God fearing children so as to be successful in life.   Children participated in dance/choreography, musical piece, song, drama/skit and painting contests.   The competitions were judged by Ahokhe Awomi, AWANA Regional Coordinator, North East India, Yanthungrhomo Mozhui and Esther, music teacher, Indigenous School of Art.   Rev. L. Hevuto Awomi, Executive Secretary, UBCA-NEI pronounced prayer of blessing for the children. Moses T. Fithu, Finance Secretary, UBCA-NEI said offertory prayer. Litoli Sumi, Sunday School teacher, United Baptist Church, Midland Dimapur proposed vote of thanks.
