
DIMAPUR, AUGUST 12 (MExN): The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Nagaland Pulp and Paper Co Ltd (NPPCL) has decided to postpone its proposed bandh of NH-2 following a meeting with the Nagaland Government.
The Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung convened a meeting on August 11 to discuss and resolve the issue. The meeting was attended by officials of the Department of Industries & Commerce, SP Mokokchung, Ao Senden office bearers, representatives of Langpangkong Range Area, Vice-Chairman of Tzudikong Adhoc Committee and members of the JAC.
The JAC shared their grievances on the non-payment of salaries and pension for staff of Tuli Paper Mill. Members of civil societies also extended their sympathies to their grievances and requested the concerned department officials to resolve the issue at the earliest.
Kekhrievor Kevichusa, Commissioner & Secretary, Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland shared that the department is taking all the possible steps to resolve the same and requested the JAC to postpone the proposed bandh/blockade of NH-2. He asked the JAC to give the department at least 3 more months to process all requirements and formalities to resolve the grievances of the workers.
