JAC road bandh against Imphal killing ends

Imphal | January 16 : The 48-hour National Highway-39 bandh called by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the killing of Dr Kunjabihari, the chairman of Manipur education board, ends today. The family members of the deceased have also taken the dead body of Dr Kunjabihari after the JAC and the Manipur government came to certain terms.
As per the agreement, ex-gratia will be given to the family of the deceased by the government and a suitable government job be given to one of late Dr Kunjabihari's kins. The chief minister of Manipur also assured the JAC that a judicial inquiry be conducted over the killing and within 14 days from today, culprits will be nabbed.
Dr Naorem Kunjabihari, chairman of Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) was found killed in a mysterious circumstance in his office chamber on January 11. No one has claimed responsibility for the act so far.
