JCCV for Dimapur dist keeps protest on pause at Home Dept request

Dimapur, March 3 (MExN): The Joint Coordination Committee of Villages (JCCV) for Dimapur District has “decided to pause the protest” against the forceful merger of Dhansiripar Sub-division and some villages with Chumoukedima from Dimapur.

The Committee decided the same following the request from the State Home department, informed a press release from JCCV Convenor, LK  Swu and Co-Convenor, Tsithrongshe.

“However the wait for positive response from the Government can't happen indefinitely. The JCCV is prepared to take extreme steps to make the Government understand the public desire as the last option,” it added.

On February 10, the Committee had served an ultimatum to the State Government demanding ‘rectification of the Government notification dated December 20, 2021’ and placing the status of the some villages, town, colonies and communities under the administrative jurisdiction of Deputy Commissioner Dimapur as before. The memorandum was submitted to the State Chief Secretary through SDO (Civil) Dhansiripar after a peaceful public on February 10 in Dhansiripar.
