Dimapur, March 8 (MExN): Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) has dissolved its Nagaland state committee after its state president Senchumo NSN Lotha reportedly submitted a letter of support to the newly formed Government of Nagaland without consulting the central party.
The announcement came in the form of a press communiqué issued by JD(U) national general secretary and in-charge for northeastern states Afaque Ahmad Khan.
“The Central party comes to know that the Nagaland state president of our party has given a letter of support to the chief minister of Nagaland without consulting the Central party. It’s a case of high indiscipline and arbitrary. So, the party has dissolved the Nagaland state committee with immediate effect,” Khan stated in the communiqué.
The JD-U had bagged only one seat in 12 Tseminyu Assembly Constituency seat out of the seven it contested in the recently held elections to the 60-strong assembly of Nagaland.
