JNCETT appeals for environmental protection

DIMAPUR, MARCH 3 (MExN): The Jotsoma Nature Conservation and Eco-Tourism Trust has stated that the people of Jotsoma have been contributing “to protect and develop the area for the welfare of everyone.” However, it stated that solar lights have been damaged, varieties of flowers and evergreen plants have been plucked away and that the area has been littered by certain people.

The JNCETT stated that all are welcome to enjoy the “serene beauty” of nature in the area; however it has appealed for the people to extend their support in protecting and keeping the area clean for everyone to enjoy.

It further informed that the Eco-Tourist Centre in Jotsoma remains open from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Tourism Committee also extended their appreciation to the Jotsoma Village Council members and the G.B.’s for initiating a cleanliness drive on February 27. This was stated in a press note by Kuokehebi Gwirie, Secretary of the JNCETT and Gwirie Vizovotou Nagi, Chairman of the JNCETT.
