Joint inspection of NH & urban roads in Kohima conducted

Kohima, November 11 (MExN): A joint inspection of National Highway roads and urban roads in Kohima was carried out with the team comprising of DC Kohima, SP, RO, EE NPWD NH, EE NPWD R&B, EE Urban, EE KSDCL, NHIDCL and contractors on November 11.

The team inspected Kohima-Dimapur 4 lane package 3, Kohima-Bypass, Kohima-Mao and Kohima town roads, a DIPR report stated. During the inspection, potholes, uneven surfaces, unkempt foliages were observed and flagged by the team to NHIDCL and NPWD respectively, including installations of sinages and line markings.

DC Kohima Kumar Ramnikant advised the NHIDCL and NPWD to ensure comfortable and safe ride quality for all NH roads from Kiruphema to Khuzama, keeping in mind the forthcoming Hornbill Festival. DC also highlighted the dilapidate bridge at Peducha Dzudza and other minor bridges along Kohima-Mao road, the report stated. 

The team visited the sinking zones at various locations. Clearing of soil, mud, rocks debris and beautification of National highway was also impressed upon NHIDCL and NPWD. The team also visited the ongoing Kohima bypass tunnel construction and T Khel Model Village road connecting NH 39 (Old) to NH 61 (Old).

Traffic management and alternated routes for easing traffic congestion particularly during the Hornbill Festival were also explored and verified by the SP Kohima.
