Jakhama, December 28 (MExN): The Jakhama Students’ Union (JSU) held its 57th annual conference with Kevipodi Sophie MLA, Southern Angami-1 as chief guest and Colonel Gaurav Singh SC, SM Commanding Officer-164 Naga Regt as special guest at Campion School Ground, Jakhama village on December 28.

MLA Kevipodi Sophie emphasised on the importance of punctuality in student’s life, stated a press release received here. He said that today with fast technology world, a student should work hard for excellence. “There is no room for half-hearted student as the competition spirit is high,” he asserted. 

He also cautioned not to believe in backdoor appointment as the State government has taken a big task to check all appointment against without sanctioned of post. 

Colonel Gaurav Singh highlighted the important role of youth and their potential to work for public good, community and others. He appreciated the student’s initiative for the promotion of environment with the theme “Go Green to Breathe Clean.” 

The President of Jakhama Gazetted Officer Krotho (JGOK) spoke on the importance of sanitation. During the occasion, Sophietso Khel was declared as the Cleanest Khel. Earlier, invocation was said by John Zao Pastor JCRC, welcome address by President JSU Keviseto Tase, Tati by Okeno Group, special number by Lolevinu Zhotso, meritorious award and the vote of thanks was pronounced by Kulvi Zhotso.

Jakhama Students’ Union Education Trust Convenor, Advocate Kezhokhoto Savi, presented the latest financial position and highlighted on the financial sponsorship for students. He also highlighted late Khuzo Zhotso Award for Best Matriculate (HLSC). 

The inaugural session was attended by Jakhama Village Council, elders, GBs, Ex-MLA Medokul Sophie, President SAPO, President SASU and his team, women society, gazetted officers, etc.
