Phek, December 13 (MExN): The Jubilee Marathon in commemoration of 50 years of Phek district was held today in five locations- Phek town, Chizami town, Meluri town, Pfutsero town and Chozuba town.
This 7 kilometres mini marathon was joined by 18 years and above for both men and women.
The winner in each location has been awarded with Rs 10,000 each and Rs 7000 and Rs 5000 for 2nd and 3rd position respectively. The prize also included 5 consolations at Rs 1000 each.
The event was sponsored by Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland and imagined by Phek District Golden Jubilee Event Committee.
Addressing the participants at Phek HQ, C Tsalimse Sangtam, EAC Phek highlighted the gist of the mini marathon. The race was officially flagged off at Chosaba junction by Phek ADC Ruopfukuotuo Noudi.
5th NAP Phek commandant Yanrenthung Ngullie gave away prize to the winners. The event was conducted by Phek EAC N Joshua Tikhir. Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, advisor, New & Renewable Energy and NSDMA flagged off the race at Meluri, which started from Anapo stream and concluded at Meluri Local Ground.

Chetheba EAC Dr. Cthitü Nienu formally flagged off the race at Zero Point at Chozuba Town. Imokokla, Additional Deputy Commissioner Chozuba presented prizes to the winners. The event garnered support from various sectors, with Commandant and Assistant Commandant from the 111 Bn of BSF also joined other competitors. (With Inputs from DIPR)
