Dimapur/Kohima, May 3 (MexN): The transmission divisions of both Dimapur and Kohima, on May 3, have informed consumers that scheduled jungle clearance and maintenance of transmission lines will affect regular power supply this month.
In Kohima, the jungle clearance and maintenance programme of 33kV lines is scheduled from May 4-24 from 9 am to 4 pm in an effort to ‘avoid disruption and facilitate stable power supply.’
While the Department shall try to minimize the total shutdown, there will be intermittent disruption of power supply in some pockets during the activity which is unavoidable, informed a statement issued by Executive Engineer, Transmission Division, Kohima.
All consumers and public are therefore requested to bear the inconvenience caused, it added.
The Transmission Division, Dimapur also informed that as per the department declaration of May and October as “Vegetation Clearance Months,” it is availing shutdown on the several lines or sub-stations from May 6-25 to carry out vegetation clearance.
