
Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): Junior Red Cross was launched at Holy Cross Higher Secondary School on April 17 by Zakie Kire, General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland in the presence of school authorities and his colleagues.
Speaking on the occasion, Kire informed the newly inducted members about their activities, duties and responsibilities. Guiding the children to help the humanity in general, he requested them to remember three principles of JRC- promotion of health, service to others and fostering of world friendliness. He also spoke about the history of Red Cross and exhorted them to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the organization in a befitting manner this year.
Bijay, state Co-ordinator, JYRC & Principal, Vidya Bhawan elaborated upon the activities of the JRC and exhorted the members to selflessly contribute towards the needy children from their own pocket money. Speaking on behalf of Chairperson, Hushili Sema, DC, Dimapur and Honorary Secretary, Inaka Assumi, committee member Ajay Sethi welcomed all the new JRC members and hoped for their upgradation to Youth Red Cross, Committee members and state executives in near future with due assistance from all present on the occasion. MC member Kuldeep Jain sought the blessings of God for their better future through humanitarian services while MC member Bhagchand Sethi prayed for opening up of better avenues for all JRC members.
State Co-ordinator, Establish and introduction of JRC, Lucy administered the pledge to all the new JRC members while Ahidur Rehman proposed vote of thanks. Earlier, Sr. Karel invoked God’s blessings while Fr. Sunil CK, Principal, Holy Cross Hr Sec School welcomed all the Indian Red Cross Society members. It may be noted that School’s teachers Chandrakala and Sucharitha have been nominated as councilors for the school’s JRC members.
