Student designers of ‘K Creative’, a fashion design-cum- tailoring and cutting training centre located here at Naga Shopping Arcade, on Wednesday showcased their innovative designs and creations.
Attired in their own creations, the students gave a glimpse of the cutting edge training in fashion technology that has come to symbolize K Creative, which was established in 2004. The students including Hermis, Merenjungla, Yanlitsala Sangtam, Akumla Imchen, Aola Sanglir, Esther Ezung and Alemla Pongen, looked chic in their respective creations, mostly gowns.
Proprietor of K Creative, Kheholi Chophi, who is recognized in the fashion designing circuit expressed satisfaction that many of her students are creative and innovative with promises of breaking into the lucrative fashion industry.
Some former students of K Creative are pursuing independent careers in fashion designing, some have opened their own boutiques and training centres and quite few appointed as instructors in government-run fashion and tailoring centres.
A former student of Kheholi who was also present on the occasion said that she had recently opened ‘Blue Print,’ a fashion designing and production centre, in Mokokchung.
On their learning experience at K Creative, Aola Sanglir a DFTT student said, “My dream to become a fashion designer is finally being achieved and now I am able to bring out my own creativity into use.”
“It’s a wonderful experience being here in K Creative with experienced teachers,” another DFTT student Yanglitsala Sangtam said.
