DIMAPUR, MAY 7 (MExN): The Home Minister of Nagaland, G Kaito Aye has strongly condemned the shooting incident on May 6 at Dimapur which led to two deaths and one injury. In a press note, the Home Minister stated that, “Such senseless shootings in populated areas need to be condemned by one and all.” He added, “The impunity with which our own brothers, in the name of the Naga national cause, carry out such acts of violence in populated areas only goes to show their utter disregard for our people.” Kaito expressed deep pain and anguish that an innocent bystander was injured in the “crossfire.” He said that at a time when Nagas are working towards peace, unity and reconciliation, “such actions on the part of the factions are most unfortunate and deserve to be condemned.” The Home minister also earnestly appealed to all factions to desist from such inhuman acts.
