Karunya University celebrates 29th convocation ceremony

Coimbatore, July 6 (MExN): Karunya Deemed University hosted its 29th convocation ceremony at the university’s campus on July 6. The ceremony commenced with the Academic Processional March to the tune of ‘Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory,’ followed by the rendition of the Karunya Anthem by the Karunya Choir. 

Dr Paul Dhinakaran, Chancellor of Karunya University, officially opened the convocation with a message. The keynote Convocation Address was delivered by Prof SS Mantha, Former Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Prof Mantha inspired the graduates with his words of wisdom, encouraging them to embrace innovation, resilience, and purpose as they embark on their professional journeys. 

The Chancellor’s Message was delivered by Dr Paul Dhinakaran. He also led the conferment of the honorary degree to E Sreedharan, renowned as the "Metro Man" of India, for his exemplary contributions to the nation’s infrastructure and public transport systems.

The ceremony saw the awarding of medals and degree certificates to the graduates by Dr Paul Dhinakaran. 

Special recognitions were given to the Chancellor awardees: Richie Suresh Koshy (B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science), Gurram Aakash (B.Tech in Robotics and Automation), Samuel D A (B.Sc in Information Security & Digital Sciences), Kaviya B (M.Tech in Biomedical Instrumentation), and Harshini R (B.Sc (Hons) in Agriculture), for their outstanding academic performances.
