DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 10 (MExN): Kekhrieneitso Angami, training out of The Combat Academy Nagaland, participated at the recently held World Championships of the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) at Bangkok, Thailand. He is a part of a 10 member team representing India, led by Susovan Ghosh, a pioneer of Indian MMA.
Kekhrieneitso participated in the Lightweight division and won his first bout against Hmida Slim from Tunisia via unanimous decision, securing the 1st win for India in the tournament. His second bout was up against Aizhigit Erkebai from Kyrgyzstan, which he lost by TKO in the second round.
Kekhrieneitso has been training and participating at various MMA events across the country and has had several accomplishments, his most recent being, winning the championship belt at 'Warrior Hunt', organized by one of India's biggest MMA promotions, the Kumite 1 League.
The GAMMA championship finals will be held on December 10 and can be viewed on the official Youtube channel of GAMMA.
