Key stakeholders urge to be well aware

Dimapur, April 30 (MExN): The NNP+ with support from Legislators’ Forum on HIV and AIDS held Advocacy Campaign on HIV and AIDS with the key stakeholders at Noksen Sub Division on April 29 under the theme “Together we can!”
NNP+ President, Chongtie Shiu in a press release said that the programme begun with invocation by Meren, Pastor, Litem Baptist Church after which a short welcome speech was delivered by O. Akhumla, SDO (Civil) Noksen.
HIV and AIDS
Chuba, MLA who graced the campaign as guest speaker stated that since there is no medicine to cure HIV, the best thing is to prevent it. He urged the key stakeholders to be well aware of it and do preventive steps. While sharing on the medicine for HIV positive, he mentioned that proper and timely medication i.e. ART helps HIV positive person to live healthily and prolongs life and therefore encouraged them to come forward and access health facilities. The guest speaker called upon the key stakeholders for continual support in mobilizing community for bringing a better response towards prevention, care, treatment and support for people living with HIV and AIDS. There was a Group wise discussion on the topic ‘The Role of key stakeholders towards HIV and AIDS response” whereby officials under SDO (C) along with Health Care Providers and Political leaders, Church leaders, Dobasis/GBs and Village Elders, Teachers and Students have actively participated and pledged to take collective venture to bring a positive change in HIV response at their own level. They however highlighted the urgent need of ICTC facility in PHC, Noksen to achieve the goal effectively.  
The key resource persons include Dr. Ajit, M.O, PHC, Dr. Emmanuel Chang, PHC, Noksen, Lanu Aier, General Secretary, Chongtie Shiu, Imti and Longyim Tzudir from NNP+. The programme which was attended by around two hundred fifty key stakeholders concluded with pronouncing a benediction by W. Lachumong Chang, Pastor of Noksen Town Baptist Church.
