Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü of Kohima village today emerged with the champion’s title of the 46th Angami Sports Association (ASA) Wrestling Meet 2018 held at Kohima Local Ground today.
Standing at 6’3 feet and weighing 115 kgs, Kezhaseluo-o (19) representing NASA defeated Kezhavizo Thevo (20) of Chedema village (NASA) in the final bout to lift the title.
Mhasilhusie Nagi (25) of Jotsoma village and Rovilhulie Pier (26) of Khonoma village, both from WASA won third and fourth places respectively.
Winning the title, Pienyu received the championship belt along with cash Rs 1.5 lakh while runner-up Thevo got Rs 1 lakh. Third placed winner Nagi received Rs 70000 and fourth place winner Pier got Rs 50000. The four losing quarterfinalists got Rs 10,000 each.
Earlier, the inaugural function of the two day meet was graced by retired Chief Engineer & former president of Nagaland Wrestling Association, Keneilhoulie Keditsu as the chief guest.
On Friday, the national free style wrestling will be held from 10:00 am onwards.
