KOHIMA, DECEMBER 29 (MExN): The Khezhakeno Combined Worship Service was held from December 23 to 25 at Khezhakeno Local Ground, Lepfhe under Phek district.
The three day program was organised by Khezhakeno Combined Worship Service Committee under the theme “Restoration through Repentance and Prayer,” a press release stated.
A special day of prayer and fasting was observed on December 24 in consonance with the divine revelation of God.
Delivering Christmas Message on December 25, Rev. David Koza, Executive Secretary, Council of Chakhesang Christian Revival Churches, reminded that Jesus Christ's birth is the pivotal event in God's plan for humanity's salvation and that the true essence of Christmas cannot be bought with money; but something we share with others.
The love and thoughtfulness we invest in our gifts make them truly meaningful. Christmas brings peace because Christ is the Prince of Peace. Thus, we are urged to live in peace with one another, allowing peace and love to fill our hearts, he said.
Also exhorting the congregation, Kevekha Kevin Zehol, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, called upon the villagers to reflect on the village's past combined services and their significance.
He expressed sincere appreciation to several individuals and organizations who have contributed selflessly towards the development of the village.
He also acknowledged the support provided by Kozabomi residents living outside the village, particularly in Kohima and Dimapur, during medical emergencies and encouraged the villagers to cultivate a heart of thanksgiving and gratitude.
He prompted gazetted officers to introspect, questioning whether they're worthy of their positions.
He urged upon the students and youth to ponder how they can contribute to the village's well-being.
He reminded them that success in life requires more than mediocre preparation.
Zehol also encouraged parents to instill values in their children from a young age and called for forgiveness and expressed his desire for the village to prosper and move forward with God's blessings.
The speakers during the program included; Rev. Seve Koza, Pastor CRC Sodzulhou, Neizo Koza, Pastor CBC Kozabe, Chümoukedima and Losao Kath, Founder, Nazareth Prayer and Healing Centre, Kandinu, Tseminyu.
