Dimapur, January 25 (MExN): Khiamniungan Union Dimapur (KUD) celebrated Khaozaosie Hoka-ah festival cum 34th General Session with Shikaho Zhimomi, President, Western Sumi Hoho as the special guest at Diphupar ‘B’ local ground on January 19 and 20.
A press release from KUD stated that the two-day event highlights were cultural displays and traditional games hosted by different sub-units of the union - Khiamniungan Cultural Club Dimapur, Khiamniungan Menyiu Hoikam Dimapur, Khiamniungan Students’ Union Dimapur and Khiamniungan Sports’ Alliance Dimapur. The event marked the mass attendance of Khiamniungan living in Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland.
The special guest in his speech highlighted the living resolution of the ‘Good will Fraternity Meet’ 2005 and 2009 between Khiamniungan’ and Sumis’ on two different occasions with exchange of traditional dao and fraternity scroll.” And also MoU is signed,” he stated. Zhimomi reaffirmed that the two tribes has resolute to be an agent of change to rebuild- fraternal relationship in brotherhood and should continue to withhold the resolutions in the days ahead. Different frontal organizations’ under Western Sumi Hoho also attended the celebration.
