Khonoma Open Volleyball Tourney underway

Kohima, October 24 (MExN): The 17th Khonoma Open Volleyball Tournament and 5th Penalty Shoot Out organized by Darlins Club with the theme “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work” started on October 24 at Kezieke Ground, Khonoma.

Gracing the occasion as the special guest at the inaugural function, Theja Meru, Advisor, TaFMA encouraged the participants to maintain sportsmanship and give their best for their team and said success does not come out of luck but only through hard work.

Earlier the program was chaired by Nijasilie Terhüja, President, Darlins club while Rev Fr Kivishi Solomon, Assistant Parish Priest, St John the Evangelist said the invocation. Besides the welcome address by Mhiesilhukho Yalie, President, Khonoma Youth Organization, a special song was presented by Petezapu Meyase from Step for Christ Praise Team.

Rokovitso Savino, Games and Sport Secy, Darlins Club administrated the Oath to the participants. The three-day event will culminate on October 26 with Ropfü Meyase, Jr State Football Coach and Thepfükolie Punyü, Assistant Professor, LNIPE NERC Guwahati, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India as special guests.
