Khriekesa blank Addax in Kohima Football League

    Our Correspondent Kohima | August 10   Khriekesa Football Club earned three full points in their first match as they eased to a comfortable 3-0 win over Addax Football Club on the second day of the Kohima Football League organised by Kohima Town Club here at Kohima Local Ground.   Petevizo Kezieo opened the scoring in the 22nd minute to give the team a 1-0 lead in the first half. Khriekesa FC continued their domination even after the lemon break, and doubled the score within the first minute of the restart through Neiphrezo Üsuo. Petevizo Kezieo added his second in the 52nd minute sealing a comfortable 3-0 win.   Up next on Friday, Power Comm FC will take on Nagabazar FC at 3:00 pm. In a pre-match briefing, Power Comm FC exuded confidence and expressed high hopes of performing well.   “We have a good set of team of both juniors and seniors including an international player Velukho Rhakho, who played for U14 India in Nepal in 2004 and U17 in Portugal in 2005.   The team is a part of church ministry and it aims to reach out to the players through sports and promote sports in the church as an essential tool for shaping the spiritual lives of the players,” said Mele Pucho, team manager of Power Comm FC.   Nagabazar FC is a formidable team, but Power Comm, fresh from having won the Morning Premier League, have players who are fit and confident and roaring to play.   Asou Keyho, Team Manager of Nagabazar FC said “we are happy to play in the league with the junior players and first timers and have good team combination.”   "We are aiming for full 3 points to start the league," he added.
