Khrukuzo Nyekha wins 1st U- 16 Naga Wrestling C’ship

The 27th Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) championship and the 1st under 16 Naga Wrestling 2020 concluded here today at Kohima Local Ground.
Khrukuzo Nyekha, representing Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) emerged as the under-16 champion.
15 year old Nyekha is the son on Kuvesa Nyekha hailing from Suthozu old village. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1.50 lakh.
The second position was bagged by 15 year old Kuvenu Puro of CWA, son of Vehuta Puro from Porba village. He pocketed a cash prize of Rs. 80,000.
15 year old Mhasezo Chüzho of CWA stood third. The son of Besuto Chüzho of Thipuzu village, he received Rs. 50,000.
The fourth position was bagged Neikotseilie Krose, representing Angami Sports Association (ASA).
Son of Kevise-u Krose, he hails from Medziphema village. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 35,000.
All the quarter finalists will be provided scholarship of Rs. 1000 per month for one year.
The 27th Naga wrestling meet 2020 was managed by Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima.
New NWA team announced
The NWA today meanwhile announced a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2020-2024. It will be led by president, Dr. Hiabe Zeliang; vice presidents, Dr. Dietho Koza and Neiketouzo Kenguruse; general secretary, Vilekho Bio; joint secretary, Amos Pame; publicity & information secretary, Krongoyi Theyo; property secretary, Kevi Kenneth Sonotsu; treasurer, Vezuhu Keyho; technical secretary, Mitwatei Haibwang; women coordinators, Ruokuotou-u Sachu, Kudukholu D. Vadeo and Lily Hegwang; co-opted technical secretary, Kikhwesul Thokhwe; NWRB representative, Hukhoneyi Soho; and advisors, Neivikuolie Khatsu, Mosonyi Domeh and K. Mark Guing.
