
Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): The Village Council of Khusomi informs that it held an emergency meeting with news pertaining to “Open letter to the Chief Engineer, Road and Bridges, Nagaland, Kohima” which was published in The Morung Express on May 3, 2011.
Issuing a clarification regarding Border Road Project from Chozuba to Kijumetouma via Khusomi (26 Km), the note appended by Mudolhu Medeo VCC, Vesazo Khusoh, VDB secretary, Muluvoto Medeo, general secretary, KYA, stated that one of the signatories, namely, Muluveyi Mudeo, former president of Khusomi Students’ Union hails from Khusomi Village and added that the write-up is purely the opinion of the individual, and not the voice of the public of Khusomi.
Further, it said that the signatory has tendered apology to the village authority and assured not to repeat in future and declared that he has withdrawn his signature from the said
issue.
The village council stated in the note that the Khusomi public along with neighbouring villages were very happy that their long cherished dream of the said road materialized and grateful to every individuals who initiated and brought developments to the public especially the said road project.
The village council also assures to fully back and supports the said project and tenders service, as and when required by the concern authority/department and requested to proceed and complete the said project at stipulated time for the interest of the common people.
Lastly, the village council felt that awarding of contract for certain projects/works to any firm/contactor is the responsibility and prerogative of the concern authority, hence it fully supports any individual/firm/contractor where the authority awards contract for the smooth and timely completion of developmental works under its jurisdiction.
