Kigwema village receives wild life conservation award

Kohima, October 3 (MExN): Kigwema Biodivsersity Trust (KBT) was awarded the Wild Life Conservation Award under the category “Green Communities” in recognition for their outstanding initiative in wild life conservation through community participation. 


As per DIPR report, coinciding with the Wild Life Week celebration, the Kohima Wild Life Conservation Award Program was held on October 3, organized by Kohima Forest Division, Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. 


Subongnukshi Ao IFS, special invitee, gave away the awards to the recipients. Vilphre Zhotso Forest Guard, Kohima Range received the “Green Warrior” award in recognition for his exemplary service to the Department.


RuokuovikhoChale, Chairman of the Kigwema Biodiversity Trust while receiving the award expressed his gratitude to the Department for the recognition and acknowledged the efforts rendered by the members.


DFO Kohima Rongsenlemla Imchen who chaired the program thanked the recipients for their contribution towards wild life conservation in the district.
