Zabü farming system features in international publication
Kohima, August 4 (MExN): Officials from the Department of Agriculture along with ATMA Phek paid a visit to Kikruma village, Phek on August 3. The objective was to have an interaction with the village council and the farmers on the unique farming system being practiced.
A short programme chaired by Deputy Project Director ATMA, Kohima Keviu Shuya was conducted, wherein, Joint Director of Agriculture, Dr I Amenla, handed over the book ‘Innovations in Agricultural Extension’ (a joint publication of Michigan State University-Extension-USA & MANAGE, Hyderabad-India) where the Zabo/Zabü farming system of Kikruma village was also featured.
Village Council Chairman, Thipuzhoyo Thira and VCM, Veto Kezo interacted on behalf of the village authority, stated a DIPR report.
The officials also handed out copies of ATMA success stories published by ATMA Nagaland and the recently released District Crop Calendar published by the Department of Agriculture along with some winter vegetable seeds. Zanehu, the farm School teacher and the owner of Razü (Zabo) Farm School of ATMA explained with a field tour on the Zabo/Zabü farming to the visiting team.
