Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS) today expressed anguish over the killing of Lunkholal Singson, Veterinary Field Assistant of Aichi Saghemi Veterinary Health Centre (VHC).
Late Singson was travelling from his place of posting in Zunheboto to Dimapur on March 17 when he was abducted near Mukhami. His dead body was recovered in the wee hours of March 20 at Mukhami village.
The Department in a statement from its Director IP Khala condemned “such horrendous act committed upon an innocent government servant” and urged the authority concerned to initiate exemplary punishment upon the culprits.
It also prayed that the Almighty God grant solace to the bereaved family and eternal rest and peace to the departed soul.
The VDB Association Medziphema Block in a separate statement also condemned the killing of Lunkholal Singson. The Association President Care-taker Hollen Yepthomi and General Secretary Pelezetuo Kuotsu urged that the culprits be booked under stringent law of the land and not granted bail. It further appealed to all the factions to co-operate in the case “if any of their members is/are found involved in the said incident.” Meanwhile, the VDB body prayed that Almighty God grant solace to the bereaved family.
