Kiphire, July 19 (MExN): With the view to promote reading culture among students, a library was inaugurated at Good Shepherd High School (GSHS), Kiphire on July 19.
Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, T Wati Aier inaugurated the facility. He appreciated Akehda_Amulung, a NGO working for the setting up of library at the school. He encouraged the students to keep God first in every walk of life and urged upon NGOs like the Akehda_Amulung to be facilitator and ceaselessly work for the people and upliftment of the society.
Chairman and founder of Akehda_Amulung, Longtili C Sangtam in his speech emphasised on the importance of reading and encouraged all to utilise the resources.
Welcome address was delivered by TV Thomas, Principal, GSHS while the programme was chaired by Irothe T Sangtam, Secretary, Akehda_Amulung, special song was presented by the school students and vote of thanks was proposed by Ariba T Sangtam, Advisor, Akehda_Amulung.
