Kiphire district committee for delimitation

Dimapur, June 27 (MExN): The Kiphire Sadar Assembly Constituency Committee has welcomed the delimitation exercise and appealed for the creation of one or two more assembly constituencies in the district.


In its press release, the committee stated that, being the remotest and farthest district of the State, Kiphire remains economically backward in many spheres over the years in comparison to others. 
The district needs large attention to address the untold miseries and to develop the quality of life of the people, it said.


It also stated that Kiphire district welcomes the exercise of Delimitation Act, 2002 and made an appeal for the creation of “one or two more assembly constituencies by segregating the existing 59 & 60 Assembly Constituency as feasible.”


The Kiphire Sadar Assembly Constituency Committee said that, after deliberation it came to the conclusion that delimitation of Assembly Constituencies in Kiphire District is vital to achieve a balanced progress and quick development of the socio-economic indicators of the District through an equitable and proportionate representation.


The committee also said that delimitation is very much conducive and opens a larger scope for growth and productivity of the district.  The committee evaluated delimitation as a policy of fiscal injection to attain quick and steady progress of our society.


In this regard, the committee appealed to let the delimitation commission exercise its full power and reconstitute the Assembly Constituencies of the State for better future of our citizens.
