Kiphire district declared Peace Zone

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 10 (MExN): Consequent upon Kiphire district general public resolution dated January  25, 2000 and June 26,  2006 respectively, the GB’s Association Kiphire District (KDGBA) once again on August 5 strictly reaffirmed the previous resolutions for implementation in letter and spirit.

In a press note issued by Yangkimong, President and TV Litsaba, General Secretary KDGBA it was stated that fradricidal killings among Nagas in the name of Naga independence and sovereignty shall be stopped under Kiphire jurisdiction in toto. To maintain peace and tranquility within Kiphire District, no underground faction should reside or roam around with uniforms and arms in civilian-inhabited areas. 

The meeting also urged the various factions to strictly adhere to the cease fire ground rules. The general public also declared Kiphire district as peace zone and shall continue to support the peace talks for solution to the Naga Political problem. Any individual found indulging in breach of peace shall be viewed seriously by the Kiphire district GB’s Association, it was stated.

Violation to the above resolution by any factions the GBs and general public of Kiphire district shall be compelled not to cooperate with that particular faction in any manner, the KDGBA cautioned.
