The Loyola Higher Secondary School Alumni Association, Kiphire has constructed the school gate to make the golden jubilee celebration of Loyola Higher Secondary School (LHSS).

The special guest, John Tsulise Sangtam, Addl Secretary, RD, Government of Nagaland in his address said he is happy to be back to his school after 47 years and the contributions of schools gate will be a piece of pride to encourage and inspire all students who pass through it.

He encouraged the students to aspire not only to become an officer but to be successful in arts, music, sports, entrepreneurship. “Know what you want to do, find yourself,” he added. 

A Island Peace Yangthsaba, Chairman, Planning Committee, Golden Jubilee LHSS Alumni Association said the gate was initiated in memory to the 50 Years Jubilee of LHSS. 

Tsarose S, batch representative of 2008 said that hard work and dedication of LHSS Alumni Association and contributions towards the construction of school gate will mark a legacy for upcoming generations. Likhumla S, Team Leader Fundraising team, LHSS Alumni Association said that it was this school where she learned to be someone in life. She thanked all those who have come forward in making this initiative a reality. 

Andrew Chumlongse on behalf of the school Management Board in his address reminded that the inauguration of the new gate is an example to be cherished and replicated by all people. “May this gate produce more successful individuals who enter it,” said Andrew.

Meanwhile, Andrew noted that sadly there has been less concern of public property in Kiphire town area where some people have destroyed the solar streets lights and town beautification, and urged the students to preserve and protect the town/public property 

Principal and Parish Priest of LHSS, Rev Father Philip Magh also spoke during the occasion.  The programme started with lightening of candle by the special guest followed by others. Rezila Sangtam, winner (USSC) solo competition 2023 gave presented the song ‘Rose's will bloom again.’ Benediction was delivered by Rev Sis Rosemary, Mother Superior, St Paul's Convent Kiphire.
