Kiphire: Saramati High School lifts 1st edition inter-school cricket trophy

Kiphire, May 8 (MExN): The Inter-School Cricket Tournament organised by Kiphire District Cricket Association (KDCA) under the aegis of Nagaland Cricket Association which kick off at Public Ground Kiphire on May 6 has completed on May 8. 

The final match was played between the Agape Hr Secondary School and Saramati High School. In the match, Agape School could not withstand their consistency and were all out in just 6.5 over and manage to score only 38 run, which gave the easy performance for Saramati High School to lift the 1st Edition Inter-School Trophy with 5 wickets in just 5.1 overs.

In the closing and presentation ceremony, Er Tsaliba Sangtam JE, Power Department Kiphire was the special guest. In speech, he appealed to the school authorities to encourage their students to take part in such events. “Since cricket is a game where the rule of laws teaches utmost discipline and which could shape the young minds to be disciplined in all prospective,” he remarked and appealed for more schools to join in the next edition.

The presentation ceremony was chaired by Athrongla, while Hoshito Sumi Pastor Sumi Baptist Church (Aizuto) invoke God’s blessings, Rothrongse Sangtam Joint Secretary, Kiphire District Cricket  Association gave short speech.
