Former Chief Minister, K.L Chishi on Thursday said Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has no right to go against the NPF candidate in the Lok Sabha by-election while alleging, “Rio was a financier of NPF candidate at 32 Atoizu A/C in the last state general elections.”
Chishi who called The Morung Express over phone on Thursday said that Leader of Opposition, TR Zeliang and Rio were firing salvos at each other in the current electioneering but added that the Chief Minister has no right to speak against NPF.
The former Chief Minister recalled that Rio was one of those involved in “toppling my government in 1990 when I was the CM and he (Rio) was my cabinet minister.”
Chishi fought the last state general elections on BJP ticket. This time, the PDA, of which BJP is a component, has set up a candidate for the LS by-election pitted against NPF candidate.
