Kohima, March 1 (MExN): Legal awareness campaign cum two-weeklong observance of World Consumer Rights Day at Kohima Law College (KLC) was officially launched by Assistant Professor and NVCO President Kezhokhoto Savi on March 1.
During the inaugural, for creating awareness and educate the citizens with rights entitled to them, Savi highlighted on National Food Security Act, Human Rights, Consumer Rights, Food Safety & Standard Act, Environment Protection, State Consumer Helpline with Tool Free No. 1800 345 3701, and laws regulates the conduct of election in a fair manner and RTI.
Every year March 15 is observed as World Consumer Rights Day. The law students and the consumer activists will conduct awareness on consumer rights starting from March 1 till 15. The awareness campaign would target students and churches especially the youth departments, Media Cell, Kohima Law College informed in a press release.
